I decided to make my own soap because I wanted to know exactly what was in it, and I was tired of having dry skin...no matter what I used. I also didn't want added detergents & unnecessary chemicals....I just wanted soap! After shopping around, I was not impressed with the available choices.....so, I decided to create my own blends!
All soap is made the same way....by saponification: the chemical process of blending oils & lye. At the end of this process...all that is left is soap & glycerin (a humectant & natural by-product.) The difference between handmade soaps and commercial soaps is HOW the soap is made & WHAT is used to make them.
Soapmaking is about using specific ingredients to create a unique, handcrafted product.....it's about finding the perfect balance. Handmade soap is special because the natural glycerin is not removed, and extra moisturizing oils are added for their particular qualities. Soap should clean, but not overly dry out your skin.I approach soapmaking a bit like cooking a gourmet meal. Different ingredients will offer certain benefits & perks. I make my soaps with special additives like honey, goat milk, essential oils, aloe vera juice, oatmeal, natural clays, sea salt; and lovely oils like olive, coconut, shea butter & cocoa butter. Scents & colors just add even more creative flair! These ingredients, along w/my loving touch is what makes all the difference when deciding what to choose for your skin.
Handcrafted soap is about taking the best of what nature has to offer, and putting it into a bar for your bathing pleasure!
I hope that you took the time to check out all the different soaps that I have made...keep in mind that there may be slight differences in color, appearance, and ingredients from batch to batch.
Many of these soaps will always be available....but others will end up being "limited editions." So, if you like a particular soap...let me know & I'll keep making it!
I have installed a shopping cart for your convenience. You can review your cart and make changes at any time before finalizing the order. The cart will direct you to Paypal's secure site for entering credit card information, or you can simply use your paypal account. I do not accept personal checks. If you have any questions at all, please send me an e-mail. Tax & shipping charges will be calculated for every order.
It is important to take extra care with handmade soap. If you always leave the soap sitting in a puddle....it won't last too long! Try to keep the soap out of the direct stream of the water; and it will last longer if kept dry in between uses. Make sure to store unopened soap away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry & airy location. All of these tips will help to prolong the shelf life of your soap.
I have really worked hard at creating these soaps, and I hope that you enjoy using them.
